24 Hour Party People

This riveting film captures the meteoric real-life exploits of Tony Wilson (great performance by Steve Coogan), a savvy Manchester-based TV impresario who, inspired by a Sex Pistols concert in 1976, starts Factory Records. While riding the success of bands like Joy Division and Happy Mondays, Wilson steers through sex, drugs and the threat of financial ruin to try and keep the Manchester music scene happening.
