Stolen Summer

Rookie writer/director Pete Jones' winning entry in the 2001 cable TV series "Project Greenlight" was this wistful and touching coming-of-age tale set in 1970s Chicago. An Irish-Catholic grade schooler tries to "work his way" into Heaven by converting Jewish neighbours, and in his quest befriends a rabbi's son his own age who is battling leukemia.
