Princess From The Moon

A poor bamboo cutter and his wife witness a mysterious light in the sky crashing into the nearby forest. Investigating the strange occurence, the bamboo cutter discovers a small pod lying next to the grave of their young daughter, Kaya. Suddenly, the pod breaks open to reveal a small baby inside, who grows to resemble the bamboo cutter's daughter. Adopted by the poor couple, 'Kaya' soon reaches maturity and becomes the object of desire for every man who sees her, her unearthly beauty captivates even the emperor. Her unrivalled magnificence prompts three noblemen from the emperor's court propose to her. Kaya, unsure of their true feelings, sets them each an impossible task to discover if their intentions are sincere. When only one of the three suitors attempts his assignment, Kaya realises that his love for her is true. But, with happiness within her reach, Kaya is shocked to discover that her true origins lie on the moon, where she is to return.
