Gary Busey's outstanding, Oscar-nominated (for Best Actor) performance as Buddy Holly makes this one of the great Rock 'N' Roll movies of all time. Backed by Don Stroud and Charles Martin Smith as The Crickets, The Legends from Lubbock are recreated impressively. The three actors actually played and sang 'live' giving the film an extra dimension in its re-creation of events.
