The Serpent's Kiss

England, 1699. Flamboyant Dutch architect Meneer Chrome (Ewan McGregor) is commissioned by wealthy English landowner Thomas Smithers (Pete Postlethwaite) to create a garden on his lush country estate. Chrome, however, has another job as well: to bankrupt his employer and help woo away Smithers' wife, the beautiful Juliana (Greta Scacchi). This lush, compelling drama also stars Richard E. Grant and is the directing debut of acclaimed cinematographer Philippe Rousselot ("Henry and June", "A River Runs Through It").
