The Draughtsman's Contract

In his feature directorial debut, Peter Greenaway crafts an elegant tale of sexual gamesmanship and murder in 17th-century England. An arrogant artist is hired by an aristocrat's wife to do sketches as a gift for her husband. The draughtsman uses his position to seduce members of the household, but before long the tables are turned. Anthony Higgins and Janet Suzman star.
