This extraordinary film, at once thrilling and deeply moving, is set in the wild reaches of the upper Amazon. Widower Antonio Bolivar (Richard Dreyfuss) lives alone in a village so small, the dentist comes only twice a year - to pull teeth and deliver the romance novels Antonio loves. Bolivar observes the settlers and their machines encroach, dispassionately noting the stupidity of modern men. But when a jaguar begins to stalk the village, Bolivar, who once lived with the Indians, is the only one with the skills to hunt it. An enchanting tale of personal honour and courage, based on the novel by Luis Seplveda and from the director of 'Bad Boy Bubby' and 'The Tracker'. Hugo Weaving, Cathy Tyson and Timothy Spall also star.
