The Ladykillers
The classic '50s British crime comedy is transplanted to a small Southern town by Joel and Ethan Coen in this laugh-filled revamp. Tom Hanks stars as a verbose, goateed "professor" who rents a room from elderly widow Irma P. Hall and brings his "early music band" to practice in the cellar - but who is actually digging a tunnel in order to rob a neighbouring riverboat casino. The crooks' plans, however, are upset by Hall's unknowing interference. Marlon Wayans, J.K. Simmons, Ryan Hurst also star.
