Coffee and Cigarettes

As hard to resist as its title vices, Jim Jarmusch's deceptively simple film consists of 11, to be fair, hit and miss vignettes, filmed over the course of 17 years, with the varied cast members sitting in cafes, downing java and ciggies, and discussing matters both mundane and profound. Among the participants: musicians Iggy Pop and Tom Waits; rappers RZA and GZA and waiter Bill Murray; Cate Blanchett as herself and her envious cousin; along with Roberto Benigni, Steven Wright, Alfred Molina, Steve Coogan, Jack and Meg White, and others.
