Dragnet

"Dum-De-Dum-Dum" has to be the most famous four-note introduction in the history of television, and Dragnet was probably the most successful TV police series, ever. Dragnet's hallmark was its appearance of realism; from Joe Friday's documentary-style narration, to the cases drawn from the files of the Los Angeles Police Department. Its catch-phrases, such as "My name's Friday, I'm a Cop" and "Just the Facts Ma'am" became national bywords. Five episodes.
