Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Based on the first three books in the "Lemony Snicket" series by Daniel Handler, this black comedy for the whole family centers on three orphaned siblings who are sent to live with bizarre distant cousin Count Olaf (Jim Carrey). Escaping after thwarting several of Olaf's attempts to kill them and steal the family fortune, the children wind up in the care of a series of quirky relatives, including a reptile-obsessed uncle (Billy Connolly) and an intensely phobic aunt (Meryl Streep), outwitting Olaf and his evil schemes at every turn. With Emily Browning, Liam Aiken, and Timothy Spall; narrated by Jude Law in the guise of author Snicket.
