Rick

Curtiss Clayton, a veteran film editor who has worked with Gus Van Sant ('Drugstore Cowboy') and Vincent Gallo ('Buffalo 66'), makes his directorial debut with this stylish, pitch-black thriller/satire, an indictment of American Corporate Culture, loosely based on Verdi's opera "Rigoletto". Bill Pullman stars as Rick, a repugnant executive who one day meets a prospective job candidate. However he humiliates her and she curses him, beginning a chain of events where suddenly everything starts to go downhill. Written by Daniel Handler, AKA 'Lemony Snicket', the author of the popular children's book series, this dark morality tale is the adult equivalent of the world he created for children in his books.
