The Sea Inside

Two towering figures in Spanish cinema - actor Javier Bardem and director Alejandro Amenabar - collaborated on this powerful true story. Ramon Sampedro suffered a diving accident at 26 that left him paralysed. Though he couldn't move Ramon understood the preciousness of life and had an uncanny ability to move others. At 54, he fought for his right to die with dignity. Winner of 'Best Foreign Film' Oscar 2005 and 'Best Actor' for Bardem at the 2004 Venice Film Festival.
