The Upside of Anger

Joan Allen is a tour de force as a bitter boozehound whose cheating husband has deserted, leaving her with four daughters. Kevin Costner matches her performance (and her drinking) as a roguish low-key neighbour whose life is also on the decline. A well-used premise is lifted by sharp writing and superior acting in this comedy/drama. Writer/director Binder supports as the producer of Costner's radio show.
