Edges of the Lord

As Nazi troops invade Poland, a young boy named Romek (Haley Joel Osment) is smuggled out of town by family friends. He's taken to a largely Catholic rural community, where a sympathetic family puts him up, pretending he's a nephew, but Romek's unfamiliarity with basic prayers and procedures raises suspicion until the local priest (Willem Dafoe) kindly coaches him in secret. A heart-felt exploration of one boy's war.
