The Sky is Falling

Based on Lorenza Mazzetti's acclaimed novel inspired by her true life experiences in WWII Tuscany. Two recently orphaned girls come to live with their aunt (Isabella Rossellini) and uncle (Jeroen Krabbe) in their Tuscan villa. Their uncle is a Jewish intellectual and slowly he and his wife discourage the pro-Mussolini ideas the girls inherited from their father. As the war rages they are warned to flee to Switzerland but Uncle Wilhelm refuses and when the Nazis return to their small village, they are caught off-guard.
