Gunga Jumna
This classic tale of two brothers seething with star-crossed love, tragic misunderstanding and revenge owes a debt to Hollywood's '30s gangster flicks, and still packs out Indian film houses when screened today. A false accusation starts a chain of events that can only end in tragedy, as the brothers find circusmstance has them on opposing sides of the law. With beautiful, not-too-intrusive songs and a stand-out cast including Dilip Kumar and Nasir Khan this is epic Bollywood entertainment at its best.
