Fear and Trembling

This comedy of cultural errors sees Belgian Amelie (Sylvie Testud) returning to Japan after pleasant memories from her childhood there. However as a woman and a foreigner she is constantly putting her foot in her inevitably Western mouth and is scorned by her strictly heirarchical Tokyo work colleagues. On the 44th floor her life begins to spiral downward, alternately tragic and hilarious, as she struggles to comprehend where East meets West.
