Tony Takitani

Tony Takitani is lonely. Since he was kid, bullied for his 'western' name and neglected by his jazz musician father, Tony has been apart from the rest of the world. Until he meets Eiko. For a while life is idyllic, but there's a problem with Tony's object of affection - she's obsessed with shopping for designer clothes. An obsession that leads to tragedy in this graceful and delicately poetic reverie on loss, memory and loneliness. Based on the story by Haruki Murakami.
