Frankenstein
This mini-series adaptation of Mary Shelley's seminal horror story is perhaps one of the most faithful to date. Donald Sutherland is great as the old sea-dog who rescues a half-crazed Frankenstein (Alec Newman) from the ice floes and Luke Goss is sensitive and convincing as the hapless creature while the story unfolds in flashback. William Hurt also features as Frankenstein's doom-predicting professor.
