Set in the wake of Julius Caesar's assassination in 44 BC, this epic mini-series charts the ensuing scrap over power between Octavius, the named heir, and Marc Anthony - a scrap that would develop into a full-blown civil war. Filmed on location in Italy, this lavish production might play fast and loose with the facts, but the atmosphere of greed and political intrigue is umistakably Rome.
