Daniel Auteuil is Pierre, a French academic who leaves his family in Paris feeling that his life has been without risk or challenge. He moves to London to write a book, but for extra money he starts working as a male escort. It may sound like a comedy, and it has undoubtedly comic moments, but essentially this is a gritty and authentic study of a man going through his mid-life crisis in seedy Soho, with a star turn from the charismatic Auteuil and great support from Stuart Townsend, Peter Mullan, Claire Skinner and Aussie, Noah Taylor. Partially subtitled.
