Hilarious farce finds Kathy Bates as a frumpy Chicago woman who is told by hubby Dan Aykroyd he wants a divorce on the same day her idol, a pop singer (Jonathan Pryce), is murdered. Bates decides to head to England for the crooner's funeral and there meets Rupert Everett, Pryce's valet/lover.
