In one of his most uncharacteristic roles, Jack Nicholson plays Warren Schmidt, a 66-year-old former insurance actuary in Omaha having trouble adjusting to life as a retiree. After his wife dies suddenly, Schmidt decides to drive his new motor home to Denver to talk his daughter (Hope Davis) out of marrying a blundering bed salesman (Dermot Mulroney). During the journey, Schmidt makes some funny and poignant observations about his life and the choices he has made. With Kathy Bates and Len Cariou.
