Calamity Jane

This made-for-TV film focuses on the personal life of an American legend, rather than the legend itself. Even in her own lifetime Calamity was more myth than fact to most, not helped by her own exaggerations of feats in Indian battles, military scouting and most famously her relationship with Wild Bill Hickok. Jane Alexander gives an Emmy-nominated performance that is the most realistic seen (until Robin Weigert's on the HBO series 'Deadwood'), and the film is (probably) the most accurate about this amazing woman's life and accomplishments.
