Louisiana Story

Produced by Standard Oil with a 'no-strings-attached' policy, Robert Flaherty's final film focuses on the story of a young Cajun boy who watches his Bayou sanctuary being invaded when an oil rig begins drilling in the swamp. Filming in an almost poetic style, Flaherty captures the mysterious appeal of a pristine paradise and offers a stirring tribute to the Bayou people. A beautiful and heartfelt semi-documentary, shot by Richard Leacock with a Pulitzer Award-winning score by Virgil Thompson.
