In the mid-'90s, Englishman Alan Conway conned many people into believing that he was reclusive American director Stanley Kubrick, despite the fact that Conway was openly gay, looked nothing like Kubrick, and knew little about the director's work. Conway's story has been loosely adapted by Kubrick's personal assistant, Anthony Frewin and is directed by first-timer Brian W. Cook, an assistant director on several Kubrick films, including 'Barry Lyndon' and 'Eyes Wide Shut'. John Malkovich is charismatic as the demented impostor in this dark oddball comedy.
