Angel: Season 1
Cursed with a human soul, vampire Angel leaves Sunnydale and his beloved Buffy and heads to LA where, still seeking redemption for his past crimes, he sets up an agency to fight supernatural bad guys. Some of creator Joss Whedon's most talented comrades joined him for this 'Buffy' spin-off (producers, writers and directors such as David Greenwalt, James A Contner and Jane Espenson), and the show soon developed a tone of its own, somewhat darker but retaining the winning mix of humour, horror and believable characters that made 'Buffy' a cult hit.
