Breakfast on Pluto

Cillian Murphy goes believably glam as an Irish transvestite who moves to swinging '60s/'70s London. Rejected by almost everyone around her, and leading a far-from-glamourous life, Patrick 'Kitten' Braden retains an unwavering spirit in the face of hardship and prejudice. Adapted by director Neil Jordan from Pat McCabe's novel, the story arc might be nothing new, but Murphy's winsomely charming performance draws you in, along with a toe-tapping soundtrack and standout support from Liam Neeson, Brendan Gleeson, Ian Hart and Jordan regular, Stephen Rea.
