Opal Dream
8-year-old Kellyanne lives with her family in the outback opal-mining town of Lightning Ridge, where treasure-seekers live on the edge of poverty hoping to strike it rich. She has two imaginary friends, Pobby and Dingan, and devotes most of her spare time to playing with them. Her family barely tolerate this eccentricity, the rest of the population think she's bonkers. But when her invisible friends go missing, Kellyanne becomes mysteriously ill and her older brother goes with her on a quest to find them. A sweetly quirky family film, set amidst the dreamlike vistas of the Australian desert and based on the popular novella by Ben Rice.
