Life of Jesus

Far from the religious biopic its title implies, this powerful French drama follows the slacker-like existence of 20-year-old epileptic, Freddy, who spends his time riding around on his moped with his unemployed pals. When the son of an Arab family makes a play for his girlfriend, boredom erupts into unrestrained violence. David Douche and Kader Chaatouf head a mostly non-professional cast in this award-winning debut film from Bruno Dumont.
