Beowulf and Grendel
Adapted from the epic Anglo-Saxon poem, and shot amidst the bleakly stunning vistas of Iceland, this fantasy adventure stars Stellan Skarsgard as a king plagued by the brutal vengeance of a hideous troll named Grendel. When the great warrior Beowulf offers his help, the king is only too pleased to accept - so let the battles commence. This post-modern re-telling of the famous legend won't please everyone, and particularly not those attached to the orginal, but as good old swashbuckling entertainment, this gets the job done.
