Dumplings

Originally featured as a short in the anthology '3 Extremes', director Fruit Chan has expanded the concept into this feature-length, satirical treatise on the dangers of vanity. Former soap star Qing (Miriam Yeung Chin) is losing her looks, and desperate to reclaim her youth she visits a mysterious chef (Bai Ling) who claims to make dumplings that can turn back time. Soon the impatient Qing is experimenting with making the concoction more potent, but just what is the secret ingredient? More 'horrific' than 'horror', a strong consitution is required for this inspired, though stomach-turning, offering.
