Roy Rogers: Billy the Kid Returns (1938) / Saga of Death Valley (1939) / Days of Jesse James
Known as the 'King of the Cowboys', Roy Rogers is at the top of his game in three sagebrushers - 'Billy The Kid Returns' has Roy as a Billy the Kid look-alike who gets mistaken for the late outlaw. In 'Saga Of Death Valley' he's the son of a man who was killed in a land-swindling incident. And in 'Days Of Jesse James', Roy is a freelance Peace Officer, hired by a bank track down some stolen money. He goes undercover in the notorious James gang, and finds out they're not so bad really.
