Idiocracy

Lowly army paper-pusher Joe Bowers (Luke Wilson) is drafted into a military experiment that sees him, and hooker Maya Rudolph, put in artificial hibernation, and completely forgotten about for 500 years, after which time they are accidentally released into an unsuspecting future. However far from the uber-smart, brave new world promised by sci-fi boffins, Joe finds a society so dumbed-down, he is by the far the smartest person on the planet. While this goofy satire seems scarily prescient, and there are undoubtledly some good laughs to be had, they are perhaps a little too far apart. Written and directed by Mike 'Beavis and Butthead' Judge, and co-starring Dax Shepard as Joe's lisping valley boy 'lawyer'.
