Carmen Flamenco

The Ballet Theatre Espanol presents a unique dance theatre production, based on the story and music of Bizet's masterpiece, 'Carmen'. Spanish choreographer Rafael Aguilar has created a fascinating, erotic dance drama that fuses the expressionism of modern ballet with traditional Spanish dance. Originally performed in Tokyo in 1982, and celebrated enthusiastically by press and audiences alike, in Japan and all over Europe, the production was filmed at the Staatsoper, Hamburg in 1992.
