The Night Listener

Gabriel Noone (Robin Williams) is a radio host and writer, suffering writer's block as his relationship with a younger man is crumbling. When he receives a manuscript from Pete, a 14-year-old boy (Rory Culkin) in Wisconsin afflicted with AIDS, he takes an interest, developing a phone relationship with the youth who claims he has been severely abused by his family. Based on the novel by Armistead Maupin, and inspired by a real event in the author's life, this psychological thriller sees Williams at his most subdued and co-stars Sandra Oh, and Toni Collette as the boy's stepmother.
