Mamma Roma

Pier Paolo Pasolini's neo-realist masterpiece stars the great Anna Magnani ('Open City') as a middle-aged prostitute who saves money to buy an apartment so she can retire from working the streets of Rome. She brings her beloved teenage son, Ettore, from the country to live with her; but he quickly succumbs to the city's corrupting influence. Also stars Ettore Garofolo and Franco Citti.
