When a farmer's genetic engineering experiement goes horribly wrong, innocuous, fluffy sheep are transformed into relentless, bloodthirsty killers, in this homegrown horror/comedy loaded with gore and every sheep joke ever conceived. Weta Workshop came on board for the special effects, and if anyone was going to make man-eating sheep scary, then these were the guys to do it. With its tongue firmly planted in cheek, and in the tradition of Peter Jackson's early splatter-fests, this ready-made cult film is ludicrous and horrifying in equal measure. Written and directed by first-timer Jonathan King, son of the late historian, Dr Michael King.
