Speer and Hitler: The Devil's Architect

This excellent German docu-drama series explores in detail the relationship between Hitler and his chief architect, Albert Speer. Combining re-enactments with documentary footage, it re-evaluates Speer's position in the Reich and the role he played, and interviews for the first time three of Speer's surviving children. Schooled in the humanities, yet able to use slave labour to increase the Reich's production, Speer was a complex and contradictory character and one of the only Nazis who, when on trial at Nuremburg, accepted some responsibility for his actions.
