The Tunnel

Based on the incredible true story of a massive underground escape attempt from East to West Berlin. Harry Melchior is a respected German athlete when the Berlin Wall is erected in 1961. He escapes to the West leaving his family behind, but fearing for his sister he decides to build a tunnel under the wall to free her. At first he just enlists the help of his friends, but he soon finds many others who want to bring their divided families back together and what was a simple plan turns into a large scale engineering project fraught with danger.
