Tarnation

A wonderfully moving and utterly unique documentary chronicling director Jonathan Caouette's fascinating life. Home movies, letters, answering-machine messages, photographs and interviews are used to illustrate Caouette's relationships with his grandparents, a father he hasn't seen since he was a child, and a mentally ill mother who has suffered through years of needless shock treatment.
