Set during the tumultuous post-colonial era in India in 1949, when it was hastily divided into India and the new muslim country of Pakistan. Sikh farmer Gian (Jimi Mistry) stumbles on a teenage muslim girl hiding in the forest after her family has been massacred and decides to take her into hiding, but it is not long before the word is out and the people of his village come baying for her blood. An epic-scale drama about two people struggling to keep their faith in humanity in a world of religious intolerance; directed by Kashmiri-born Vic Sarin who grew up hearing the stories of divided families and religious massacres.
