Set in a women's prison, this award-winning film is the 10th feature to be made adhering to the strict rules of the Dogme Manifesto, introduced by Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg, and continues the vivid renaissance of Danish film. Anna is the new chaplain on the block, idealistic and cheerily self-satisied, though strained after years of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant. When new inmate, Kate, arrives in the prison her strange oracular powers finds kudos amidst the inmates, and Anna's suspicion is tested when Kate casually comments that Anna is with child.
