Casino Royale ( Blu-ray )
The new Bond is not only blonde, but he does an awful lot of running. Daniel Craig has chipped off the suave, sophisticated facade of previous Bonds, bringing a naive bravado to the role, in 007's first outing. Bookended by bits of plot, the middle is full of running, jumping, a couple of Bond girls and lots of gambling as James goes undercover in a high stakes poker game. Judi Dench returns as M, Eva Green is the sexy lady agent assigned to keep an eye on him, Mads Mikkelsen and Simon Abkarian are the baddies while poor old Q, along with most of the usual gadgetry, has disappeared altogether. Better, stronger, faster than before? A new generation may have met their favourite Bond.
