Behaving Badly

Based on Catherine Heath's book, this 1989 four-part mini-series stars Judi Dench as a woman whose life is initially shattered when her husband decides to leave her for his young mistress. For five years she lives a quiet, conformist life, attending church and evening classes and generally being good, til a chance encounter makes her decide to start breaking the rules and having fun. A deft blend of drama and humour that won Dench a BAFTA nomination.
