The Civilization of Maxwell Bright

Patrick Warburton (better known for voicing Disney characters) gives an impressive performance as a misogynistic L.A. citizen who orders a mail bride after a lifetime of disastrous relationships with women. Maxwell hopes his faceless import can be molded to his way of living, but when the beautiful and strong Mai Ling arrives he slowly but surely comes to realise it's never too late to change. Writer/director David Beaird puts commendable effort into imbuing his title character with humanity and his film with the Buddhist idea of one person living in hell so that others may escape it.
