The most famous obscenity trial in history is the subject of this docu-drama exploring the controversy that followed the publication of DH Lawrence's infamous book, 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. The courtroom scenes are all taken from the original transcripts, but acclaimed writer Andrew Davies ('Tipping the Velvet', 'Wives and Daughters') also attempts to get inside the heads of the jurors whose thoughts and feelings have remained a mystery. A fictionalised romance serves as the backdrop for one of the most important challenges to censorship in recent times.
