The Last Trapper

Part documentary and part dramatisation, director Nicolas Vanier ('Travelling Birds', 'Microcosmos') delves into the life of Norman Winther and his wife, who live in the starkly beautiful Rocky Mountains in Canada, trapping wolves and grizzlies. Their existence is under constant threat by the elements and the encroaching logging industry, but with their team of dogs, the couple are determined to maintain a lifestyle that most people would would turn pale at the thought of. Fascinating and beautifully filmed.
