Between August 2002 and October 2004, South African-born explorer Mike Horn circumnaviagted the Arctic Circle alone. Under the harshest of conditions (he chose to travel against the prevailing winds and currents) he travelled 20,000 kms suffering frostbite, delerium, temperatures as low as -70 Celcius, Arctic ice floes taking him the wrong way and hungry Polar Bears. Meanwhile his NZ-born wife and two children wait patiently at their Swiss base. An astonishing document of human endurance, courage and sheer bloody-minded determination.
